With the Full Moon Bungalows you get what is says on the tin, and thats not a bad thing at all. The biggest positives by far are the location if you want to avoid the Chaweng madness and the couple who run the place, Paul and Sue are always at hand to provide advice, tips and will make a real effort to cater to your needs, wether it be booking tours (getting deals) and making your stay as comfortable as possible. I have read some negative comments posted here but there are 2 sides to every story. Its not the cheapest accomodation, that is a fair comment but i never felt unsafe or in need of anything more. Unbelievably overpriced. A bunch of run-down shacks. When I arrived, no one was there. My taxi driver and I looked around, knocked on some doors, and called the contact number (and then a cell phone started ringing behind the bar--so the owner didn t have his phone on him). Finally the owner and a friend showed up, and they appeared to be drunk (it was about 6PM). He said that he thought my arrival date was the previous day (although I d booked the cab ride simultaneously, and he d been waiting for me at the right time). As the cab driver helped me get my bags to the room, he told me those are whiskey guys. If anyone knocks on your door tonight, do NOT open! Then he gave me his card and said I could call him any time if I needed help. Needless to say, I was a bit unnerved--I frequenly travel solo, but as a woman, I feel I usually have to be overly cautious. I was going to leave, but it started raining in torrents, and the electricity went out. So I stayed put and slept there. In the morning, I went to return my key just before 10:30AM (the checkout time posted on the door), and again--no one was to be found. The bar/reception area was a disaster area with empty beer cans and bottles and cigarettes strewn around. I set my key on the bar and left. NOT recommended! [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

Dont stay here. We paid online for a family room as travelling with a 2yr old. Got there to find we had to go out for the day whist the owner tried to knock a hole in the wall to put in some aircon. Never happend. We were giving a standard room (one bed, instead of the 2 bedrooms and lounge we had paid for!). The light didnt work, he brought us a lamp, until he needed it for poker. The cleaner took some of my daughters toys. We only got SOME money back on the last day....but he still charged us 1000bht a night, and on our last trip to thailand we spent 350baht for nicer accomodation! He helped us rent a car. The door opened of its own accord, and the aircon leaked. Charged us double what we found elsewhere. Full of drunk middle aged western men beating up there thai girlfriends. Very close to the pier for full moon party, but shop around!! He will steal from you! [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

Paul made me feel so welcome ~ I stayed just for one night before catching the morning ferry to Koh Tao and had a wonderful time. My bungalow was clean and if I needed anything at all, Paul was more than willing to accommodate. I would stay here again for the hospitality alone and to watch the most amazing sunsets ever [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

nice place with friendly staff. you meet a lot of people on their way to Koh Phangan, cause the Ferry is right beside. the rooms are ok and clean. The beach Bar is beautiful, cocktails are great and they ve got real coffee, not that instant coffee. If you re looking for a good time at Big Buddha Beach, thats the right place. Would come back every time.

Enjoyed my stay at full moon bungalows!The location is perfect for anyone who is considering travelling to the Full moon party on Koh Phangan. Its situated right on the beach beside the pier for the speed boat to head out to Koh Phangan. The staff were friendly and very helpful! The beach was right on the doorstep and was a brillant place to relax! My favorite is the beach bar area where you meet other travellers. its a great hang out place with chill-out music. Watching the stunning sunsets with ice cold beer was awesome! I for one will definitely be coming back again. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Vraiment pas terrible par rapport à ce à quoi on s attendait. La chambre était propre mais très très simple pour le prix et par rapport aux hotels environnants et pratiquant les mêmes tarifs. Je ne le conseille pas du tout. La nuit a été bruyante avec des gens qui tiraient des pétards dans la rue, des chiens qui aboyaient ...

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at full moon bungalows! I was travelling on my own so I especially appreciated the warm anf freindly atmosphere of the bar and other travellers who were staying there including the owner who took me and another guest with him to see a local Thai boxing show that was on the night we arrived. The location is perfect for anyone who is considering travelling to the Full moon party on Koh Phang yang as you can literally step out the front door and on to the ferry! Also the owner has been here for many years and seen it all so if you need any info he can sort you out! It is in a quieter part of town away from all the big noise and bars but is definately not isolated, Just quieter so would be a great place to bring kids. There are many shops and restaurants located within a stones throw and a taxi to the main part of town only costs 100Bht, around $3. Theres a few bars and internet cafe s along the main street and It has everything you need except lots of people. The owner is English so theres no chance of anyhting being lost in translation which can sometimes happen with Thai operated resorts. He has plenty of local knowledge and quite often can save you alot of money and help you avoid the tourist traps. This was invaluable to me as I was travelling alone and had no knowledge of this part of the country. This place is very relaxing with a million dollar veiw from the the bar. I would recomend it to Families and couples and single travelers alike, as it is a great base for exploring Koh Samui and its a nice place to come back to and be away from the hustle and bustle! All in all I had a great time and will Definately stay there again with my family next time! [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

What a great place Paul and Angela along with their friendly manager Nok have created here. Lovely location right on the beach with an intimate bar area to sit and admire the beautiful sunsets. Room was very spacious and clean. It s only a small group of bungalows so no issues with noise, overcrowding etc. There is a great little food market area just over the road which serves great soups and curries for a pittance. You can bring the food back to the bar to have a nice chilled Tiger beer to accompany it. If you are very lucky you also get to share the owners latest catch (I m not convinced it didn t come from the market) :) Overall if you are looking for a convenient base in Koh Samui with a welcoming and chilled out atmosphere, this should be your first port of call. If you re looking for a big clean room, air conditioning, tv and a 15 metre walk to an iddylic beach then this is a great place to go. Along with the beautiful view from the bar are cheap food and drinks including cheese toasties! You re also a short walk away from a PADI scuba diving school so if you re a keen diver then this is also a bonus!

this is a perfect stop over before going to koh phangan as its situated right on the beach beside the pier for the boat its also just 10 min from the airport which is great when you need to get the head down after travelling long journey. . The owners Paul and Angela were so helpful and friendly so a big thanks to them for everything ;-)We will definately stay here again next year [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

This place is awesome. The people who run it , Paul and Angela became family to us. I stayed here with my 4 daughters for a month and had nothing but an amazing time with them. The beach is amazing and Paul and Angela have advice for everything. Noc and Jam (barman and cleaner) are the best and for us it was almost impossible to leave! FullMoon Bungalows ROCK!!!!!!!

The Full Moon Bungalows is a fantastic laid back retreat. Great location for travel to the main beaches and Full Moon Party. The personalised service and entertainment made the whole trip. We stayed here for 1 week. We couldn t have chosen a better place in Samui to stay.Angela & Paul were excellent. The rooms were clean and well equipped with everything we needed. We had an excellent time here, chilled out and relaxed atmosphere and the best cocktails i ve ever had!! will deffinately return in the future. Had a fantastic stay here, rooms very clean and well looked after. Great atmosphere, chilled out and relaxing. Paul and Angela were great company and have some fantastic memories. The cocktails were the best i ve ever tasted and was very upset to leave. Feels like we made very good friends here and will be returning in the future. The place to stay for sunsets and listening to good tunes. Close to Full Moon Party. Paul & Angela put on a bbq and it was the best i ve ever had. Definately in Thai time here, highly reccommended to anyone looking for chilled out times and fantasic memories.

Absolutely loved it! Angela and Paul were so accommodating and really helpfull. The room was large, clean and quiet. The hotel was clean, in a great location near Big Buddha beach and perfect for those going to the full moon party. The English couple running the hotel were very hospitable and welcomed you with a free drink. The rooms were large and comfortable. On the evening of the full moon party the couple running the hotel organised a BBQ for all guests going to the party, they organised the boat passes to the island which made things much more relaxed. The boat across left just from the beach at the hotel which was very convenient. Overall would definately recommend this to anyone preparing for the full moon party. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

Full Moon Bungalows is a very nice and comfortable resort near Koh Samui airport. Rooms are clean, staff is very friendly, and they have a very nice bar at the beach! As the resort is next to the Big Buddha Pier, it is also very easy to go to Koh Phangan.

What a fantastic,chilled out place.The English owners,Paul & Angela are very friendly & go out of there way to sort out everything for you,trips,transport,bbq,s, they have become very good friends. I stayed for 5 weeks,& plan to get back there as soon as possible.The bungalows are very clean & well above average for the price,the beach bar is a great hang out with chilled out music.My favourite time is watching the stunning sunsets with one of their very resonably priced cocktails.Big Buddha beach area is a lovely place,it has many bars & restuants,the ferry & speed boats going to Koh Phangyang & the smaller islands.If your going to the Full moon party,then this is the base for you,you will be well looked after.The WI-FI is also an added bonus on the beach & bungalows. if your going to samui to party and u need a place thats friendly and enough then this is the place. paul and ang r great, they own the place and made everything good better. they went out of their way to help when ever possible. great people. the fullmoon party was a blast (i dont remember much) but wat made it better was the speed boat home, the rooms r right next to the speed boat terminal, a good thing at 7 in the morning. as for the bar, its cosy and personal most of the time its u, the guest, paul, and and nok the bar tender. dont be fooled he can make some great coktails at 10 in the morning or 1 at night just the thing with the best toasties on samui. its not 5 star but who needs it when your there to party. We really enjoyed our stay at Fullmoon Bungalows. The location was perfect. Quiet and serene. It s right by the ocean... perfect for laying around listening to the waves. It s not in the busy area of the island, but also not far. It s a perfect get away. The owners were extremely nice and made you feel at home. The rooms are basic, bed, restroom and TV. But you don t need anything else...it was perfect. Anything you need, they re there to help. I would definitely go back.

The Full Moon Bungalows were fantastic! Slightly pricier than most accomodation in Thailand but worth every penny. The bungalow itself was clean & spacious and the bar area was fab with comfy sun loungers and a gorgeous view out over the sea! Paul & Angela are great hosts treating you more like friends than guests. I booked the full moon package which included a barbeque and speedboat to and from Koh Phan Ngan - what more can you ask for!!!

Enjoyed a very relaxing 11 nights at Full Moon Bungalows. Nothing was too much trouble for hosts Paul and Angela. Clean, comfortable accommodation at a reasonable price. Recommended - I hope to return for another visit. Paul s Bamboo Bar in Bang Rak also highly recommended - good food, beer and attentive staff [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

Great location especially if you want a stop over to or from Ko Phangan. Rooms are clean and staff are very friendly.

Nice place for a stopover close to the airport and the ferries to the other islands. Not the prettiest part of the island but it s right on the beach and everything you need is nearby - plenty of food and bars. The English owners were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

Good location near airport and ferries to other islands. Rooms clean and basic. Very helpful owner Paul who is english. Lots of other resorts in the same area which may suit other tastes so look around if you re not happy. Big Buddah beach not the best on Samui but great if you re thinking of heading to Koh Pang Yang for Full Moon. All round satisfactory stay. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

Paul and Angela will make you feel very welcome, they go out of their way to sort things for you, day trips taxis, BBQ s etc. The accommodation was more than we expected and in our opinion above basic. If your looking for a friendly, clean place to chill out with town on your doorstep then we would highly recommend Full Moon Bungalows. Excellent.
