NEW DISTRIBUTION NETWORK
Your advertisements will be seen by more people, in more locations, around the island than ever before. New content will be targeted at tourists as well as locals, with brand new features including a free property supplement and a free travel supplement.
Advertisements, combined with free editorials/reviews, will maximise exposure for your facilities, products and services, as will repetition of your advertisements on the Samui Express website, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and where relevant, Youtube.
The new Editor of the Samui Express is a 30-year veteran English journalist who has run print and broadcast newsrooms worldwide for global media outlets, been a TV foreign correspondent for more than 20 years (Sky, ITV, CNN); and contributed to newspapers and magazines as diverse as the UKs Daily Telegraph and The Sun, and Asiaweek and Hello Magazine. She has been resident on the island for two years and a frequent visitor since 1986. She knows what expats, and tourists, want to read and how to keep a bi-weekly publication current and interesting. The 24-page paper, plus supplements, will guarantee its readers a comprehensive round up of happenings on the island, as well as around Thailand and abroad, and provide a top quality forum for advertisers’ messages.
A few words from the new Editor:
The Samui Express was a much-loved publication, read by expats and tourists alike, on Koh Samui. It kept its readers up to date with issues, concerns and developments on the island, and provided a national and international outlook too. But, more importantly, it provided a forum for Samui-based businesses to capture the attention of locals and visitors alike. It was the quintessential local newspaper, which drew the community together and encouraged others to join that community and make full use of its facilities and services.
The new look Samui Express will do all that, and more. Now, with a fully professional news team, boasting years of experience in major media outlets worldwide, Koh Samui will have a newspaper to rival those in Phuket and Pattaya. More news, more sport, more pages, both colour and black and white; better written, more relevant content; regular advertorials for key target audiences; a hugely expanded Classifieds section; plus columns on sport, motoring, food, business, gardening etc to appeal to all audiences.
I have been a news, business and entertainment journalist for thirty years, working extensively in newsrooms for media giants such as CNN, Sky, ITV, BBC etc. Running newsrooms and covering stories for key audiences, both in words and pictures, is what I have done all my life since I was a cub print and TV reporter in Britain in the early eighties. I have reported on some of the most interesting events and stories of the past thirty years, from the fall of Eastern Europe to the War in Afghanistan. I know how to spot a story and how to tell it well. I am a stickler for accuracy, in facts and in English grammar, and for meeting deadlines. I intend to take the paper from a small bi-weekly newspaper/newsletter to a major regional paper, serving advertisers and readers across the archipelago. Extensive property pages are a must. So is a travel supplement. Special themed pull-outs on subjects like retiring in Samui, or medical provision in Koh Samui will provide a good background for relevant advertisers. The new look Samui Express will be a must-have publication for all Koh Samui’s expat residents and visiting tourists.
