This hotel has proven to be a winner over the 10 yrs I ve been visiting Samui . However, it is in need of more lounge chairs so ALL guests can enjoy the beautiful beach area. I stayed at hotel for 2 (4day) visits in January. In those 8 days I was unable to use the beach for sunning because other guest would reserve chairs with a towel placed on chair as early as 8am. When in Thailand, or any travel for that matter, I ve learned to just go with the flow. I won t compete for a lounge chair. I ll just make other accommodations. Seems like such an easy fix. New owner was unresponsive leaving the staff to take the heat. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

Our room (No 3) on ground floor, with door straight out onto beach, had been recently refurbished and had a fantastic modern shower room, a great improvement. Looks like lots of changes being made as whole reception area changed too.

A great hotel on a calm beach with very good food and drinks. We had a really good time, and can really recommend it. Dont forget to book the seafood dinner on the beach. An extra thanks to the helpful and friendly John and his wife.

We stayed four nights in this small and excellent hotel with a very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is situated a few meters from the see and has also a nice pool and all this in one of the best villages on Koh Samui - Fisherman village. The only negative comment is the bottom of the sea, it s slightly muddy with some small stones. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

A lovely family run hotel in Fisherman s Wharf. The staff were all really friendly and we were made to feel really comfortable and at home. It felt like we were in our own private villa with our own private beach. Rooms were a good size and the food was really nice. Great value for money. Would definitely book in this hotel again. Spending time at this hotel was like being part of a bounty advert. It was like having our own private villa but with lovely friendly staff to look after you. I don t do returns because the world is full of exciting places and I want to see them all - but if I did, then I would gladly go back.

What a mess-up! We booked this hotel on-line, three months before our intended trip to Koh Sanui to attend a wedding. Once we had booked, we told our friends and suggested they do likewise. In all seven separate bookings were made. When we arrived we were told that the hotel had no record of our booking, or the booking of the couple who arrived with us. This is despite us both having paid a substantial deposit. The hotel did find us a hotel room close by, but it was not what we had wanted (no ocean view. The bookings of our five friends were all honoured. We were really dissapointed to be separated out from the group, and particularly annoyed that we were the ones who had found the hotel and recommended it to all our friends. Really dissapointing. The hotel blamed Sawadee for the mess-up. I don t believe them. Our friends had e-mailed the hotel prior to our arrival to enquire about an airport transfer and received a response. Surely the hotel would not have responded if they had no record of our stay. The hotel owner said it s not our fault if you book through an agent , yet this is the only way to do an on-line booking and is where one is directed when using the hotel s website.

We booked online 4months prior but found that we didn t actually have a room when we arrived, even though I had emailed the online booking agent two weeks prior for a confirmation. The hotel had no spare rooms so we had to find accommodation elsewhere. They ran next door to find alternate accommodation but those rooms were substandard so we organized another hotel ourselves. The disappointing part was the hotel owners lack of care. We wasted 1.5 days of our 7 day holiday moving hotels. We were offered a room at Baan Bophut for the last two nights but with no discount! Discount next year .... you ve got to be kidding me, as if we would ever book there again!

Baan Bophut is perfectly located in Fisherman s Village. We visited many villages in the island and Fisherman s was definitely our favourite, beautiful views and great shopping and eating, and due to the surrounding road network the main street was generally pretty quiet. The accommodations were a little bit older than I expected (after seeing the photos) but this is more than made up for by the exceptional service of the staff and the high standards they clean and service to. There is always (7.30am - 9pm) multiple staff at the restaurant/bar and they will make you anything you want at the drop of a hat and with a smile. The beach bar hut is like something you see out of a movie and is perfect to sit and have a beer or cocktail on dusk. Considering it is a public restaurant, very few people actually dine there (I think due to lack of signage/awareness) so you virtually have a private beach bar, and the prices for both food and drinks were very, very reasonable. The only disappointment was that the website says small children are not facilitated and noisy/boisterous youngsters are not allowed, but while we stayed there were two couples each having young and very loud children. Great location. Away from the mad crowds but a short walk to the action if you want to be a part of it. September was brilliant. We were the only guests in the hotel for a few of the nights. Margaritas were the best.

I loved this hotel despite its deficiencies. The towels were rather worn and there were a lot of stains on the top of the cabinets etc. Also, the shower in my room (2) only reached lukewarm. However, I loved the intimacy of the hotel compared with staying at a resort and the staff were very attentive and personable without being subservient. They were excellent. The view from the room was beautiful, the pool was very clean and the breakfast was good, though perhaps a wider choice of cereal (could only get cornflakes) would be appreciated. The general position of the hotel in Bophut is excellent as this seemed to me to be the nicest part of Koh Samui and it was so close to shops, restaurants etc. If/when I return to Koh Samui I would definitely stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to others who do not want to stay in a hyped-up resort. Unfortunately, there were some uncouth, loud Australians staying there towards the end of our stay but that of course was not the fault of the hotel. It made me embarrassed to be an Australian though. I booked direct with the hotel and found the booking system good. However, when I was booking out the credit card machine was not working and this caused a lot of problems. The receptionist was not at all helpful about our predicament. I think in the circumstances, she should have trusted us to pay out bill on our return home but she insisted we find the money to pay in cash. Luckily I had enough baht to do this but my travelling companions had a lot of trouble accessing cash. It was not a good end to what had been a lovely stay at the hotel. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

As stated by a few others it is a nice hotel but suffers from some maintenance issues. Room door could not open all the way as it was a bit warped, sliding doors to balcony were difficult to close and never closed completely. In addition, housekeeping only does the bare minimum. That being said, location is great and if looking for a ladies back no stress place, it fits the bill.

Positives - clean rooms, great bed, good value, great location to markets and restaurants, good pool, free internet, quiet area, 30 mtrs to the water, Negatives - beach is not ideal for swimming, some mosquitos from nearby creek at night (nothing a can of flyspray couldn t handle though) hot water to shower and vanity was only lukewarm, lounge chair covers need replacing. Baan Bophut is in a perfect location on Fishermans village and situated right on the beach. The food was excellent and the prices very reasonable. Unfortunately the place is becoming rundown and could do with an overhaul, I had a cold shower for 3 days and even though I told the management, nothing was done about it, hence I checked out early. The hotel is an idyllic little resort , located just at the beggining of Fishermans Village main road. All the staff is really friendly and helpfull on every step, trying to make your stay with them an unforgetable one, and they succeed. Rooms are spacious with all the ammenities necessary and fantastic view of the sea. Hotel beach is also pitoresque and clean compared to some others on the island. Overall we had an amazing time in Baan Bophut Hotel, and I shall recommend it to any of my friends planning a vacation on Samui [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

Dejligt hotel med venlig betjening. Værelserne er gode, men der mangler en stol eller to på værelset. Stranden er ikke den bedste på Koh Samui, men til gengæld er der en dejlig swimmingpool. Restauranten er rigtig god med mange muligheder, både hvad angår thailandske og internationale retter. Vi spiste der - stort set -hver dag til frokost.

I stayed here for a week over New Year, I recommend a ground floor facing the beach - it s not that private, but it s very quiet anyway so you don t feel too spied upon. The beach is about 25m from your front verandah - I could look at that distant view of Koh Phangan forever... Staff are helpful and friendly, free Wifi, airport pickup, quiet end of Bophut Beach but still very close to the action. My friends who were staying somewhere much bigger and more expensive were jealous of my beautiful view and peaceful beach. I would go back. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

It has become very run down. Very little maintenance. The beach bar has disappeared, probably rotted. Sunbed mats torn and rotted,basic rooms with very little privacy. No selection of cereals at breakfast. Unplanted Garden beds. Very little grass. Canoe seats left out to perish. We had trouble finding someone to speak English to. The cleaners checked us out. Lovely,serene & peacefull spot right on the beach! Staff were lovely & very helpful. The food & service at the Baan Beach resort were fantastic, had yummy lunches & great fruit drinks. Restaurant is totally under utilised, great cooks.....brekkies were very well cooked, we just added eggs & bacon to our complimnetary continental brekkie & paid a little extra. We were totally relaxed, & enjoyed the friendly atmosphere & chatted to lots of mainly British fellow travellers. The fishing village restaurants were right outside our door. Very convenient. Many & varied choices, our favourite was Il Salotto, gorgeous staff, great Margaritas for a sunset drink & wonderful Italian & Thai food. We will def return to this heavenly spot. Happy Holidays!! Great location,our first time to Bophut beach area. Liked the quietness of the fishermen s village area. Very comfortable bed, staff very friendly. Our only complaint would be the bath shower got the bathroom very wet, (no seperate closed shower area) and the towels were very worn, some torn and stained. Staff and owner very friendly.

We only stayed for one night in a ground floor beach front room which was just perfect. It is obvious that a lot of thought has gone into the planning of the room and it was equal if not better than many 4 star hotels. The hotel is quiet and I notice that their booking conditions show restrictions regarding children which is a plus point for us. We would stay again if on Koh Samui

Baan Bophut is a quaint small hotel at the edge of fisherman s village in bophut beech. choose this if you want a) undisturbed beech time, b)just a few steps from your room to shore line & c) you like a quite & small hotel. We stayed three nights there because we had booked but we were really disappointed. In the room they gave us the air conditioning did not work and it was necessary to wait one hour before they agree to change us room because I asked it. Second evening, there was a big thunderstorm and no more light in our new room while there was in the corridor and in the rooms close. We would consequently have appreciated a discount on the price of the room. It even has not been proposed... To end, room was not relly clean. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

We stayed 4 nights as a family of 2 adults and 2 adult children (17 and 25). We were originally booked into the family suite but found the layout unsuitable for our needs. The hotel manager understood our problem and arranged for us to relocate into 2 beachfront rooms at no extra cost. These rooms were clean, roomy, had a good size bathroom and the king size bed was really comfortable....we all slept like babies!! The complimentary continental breakfast was fine, the staff substituted the croissant for toast if needed. The cocktails were great as was the lunch which was served to our recliners on the beach....great friendly service!!! We didn t dine at the hotel in the evening.While the sea was not super-clear it was a pleasant bath , especially at full tide when it was a little deeper in close. The hotel pool was clean, a lovely temperature and definitely not crowded.We found the location towards one end of Bophurt beach to be absolutely fine....handy to restaurants, shops of all types, bike hire, ATM s etc.Because the hotel is relatively small and had a no children policy, we enjoyed a quiet friendly environment without having to compete for facilities....it was great. I thoroughly recommend Baan Bophurt Hotel to anyone wanting a hassle-free beach front holiday in good quality facilities at a very reasonable rate. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

Hotel staffs are bacially nice people except for their manager. Very irresponsible. Avoiding us when we asked to see her. We are living in the Hotel for 4 days and she couldn t be bother about our request to meet up! We sent emails but no reply from her too!!! Very bad manners!

I would like to comment on the good service and on time response by the Driver of Baan Bophut. The room is okay, its clean. However, the design of the bathroom is not good. Its open shower concept and the water flows all over the tiles. The sink below was leaking. All in all, its a good location but room quality is 2/5. Hopefully they will do repair job during low seasons, as i have feedback to owner.

Fantastic hotel. Picturesque view, relaxing atmosphere and excellent amenities. The service from the staff is unbelievable, not obvious but amazingly receptive. Drinks on the beach...done, by the pool.. .done....anything done!

The decor of the room was really poor. No English speaker was available at the Reception desk whatever the time was. The pictures of the hotel s website look nicer than the reality.

Very nice hotel. The area is nice if you are looking for a low key quite area to base yourself in Koh Samui. Highly recommned the tailors in the fisherman s village a few blocks away that call themselves Armani.

Very friendly and homely. Lucy the owner was extremely welcoming along with all the staff it was great to have that personal touch which made it a great experience not to be forgotten. What a wonderful experience to walk out of your room and straight onto a beautiful beach. It was very tranquil and peaceful if you want to look for that kind of thing in a holiday. The only thing missing was a hammock!!

Very good homely hotel, staff very helpful and pleasant. Rooms not 5 star but very adequate, a bit short of hanging place for clothes and found the shower a bit messy as no shower curtain so floor got very wet.Great situation on the beach at the quiet end of the village.

We started our week long stay in ko samui at baan bophut and it was the perfect start to our vacation. Lucy and her staff are really friendly and always out to help that it feels like you ve just visited a long lost friend. The complementary breakfast in the BB package leaves something to be desired but the view from the room more than makes up for it. The hotel is located in a great area that allows you to come home to a quiet retreat while being minutes away from many of the restaurants and night spots we found recomended in the dining and nightlife guides. Although we found the kitchen to be closed fairly early the carpe diem cafe accross the street is quite good and is open till the wee hours of the morning which means that a cup of fresh cofee or a snack is always at hand. All in all this place is great value for money and scores very high on service. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

fantasic little hotel tucked away in fishermans village!Right on the beach but you need to walk a little way down to get away from the rocky bit. Lovely friendly staff and the most comfortable beds and pillows in Thailand! Would thoroughly recommend it!!! [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

This is a very well run quiet hotel on Bophut. The staff are delightful the hotel is run well and the food is excellent. Reception is very low key - but that is what it is advertised as. The rooms are well appointed and have wonderful balconies, with very comfortable chairs to relax and watch over the bay. Loved Bophut as an area it is really quaint and relaxing away from the hussle and bussle of Lamai and Chaewang. Baan Bophut is a lovely beach front property with lovely large rooms and bathrooms. The balconies are large with a couple of chairs to relax. The pool although not huge is lovely and deep. We only stayed 1 night but wished we could stay for longer. The breakfast is not buffet but plentiful and lovely and fresh. The restaurant is nice and the kitchen is one of the cleanest I have ever seen in Thailand. The Bophut area has lots of lovely restaurants all in walking distance with a strong European influence if you want to eat something other than Thai. really really nice little hotel. The small number of rooms (I think 10) meant you never felt overcrowded. We often had the pool or the beach to ourselves. The rooms are big and beds very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. No compaints about hotel at all. The beach is a bit stony but hotel is at opposite end of beach to all other resorts so you have it to yourself. also positioned right in fishermans village which is fabulous.

Lovely hotel,wonderful staff. Great location, superb area for quality restaurants and bars. Lucy, owner, was so helpful and cheery. Would highly recommend and will definitely come back. nice building but the average price was higher than that the direct competitors around. The room are poorer compared to the exterior. Inconsistent management, not very present and friendly. The sea isn t good as expected from a top tropical location (not far there is a small river not exactly clean). Try to avoid the rooms on the ground floor (specially the n. 4) because really noisy. We had some problem at night with guests coming in shouting or drunk. If coming back to Samui definitely we will choose another hotel. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

Expectations fomented by the pictures presented on the homepage and the allover good feedback of the other guests were 100% archieved. If you search for a calm place to get away from all but you won t miss the comfort of a hotel resort then you will enjoy Bhan Phoput Hotel which is located next to the fisherman village which offers a wide range of shops, massage and restaurants. This area seem to be very popular by the English. The beach in front of the hotel is quite flat and empty and you feel the beach belongs to you alone and no matter when the tide goes out you can use the own swimming pool in the garden. However real sunworhipper will have a daily fight for sun lounger. During our stay there were only 7 sunlounger for 13 rooms available. Unfortunately the penthouse do not allow you to back out of the beach to make yourself comfortable on the big seaview balcony the other rooms all have. Air Conditioning is availabe but sometimes a moskitonet would be advantageous. Altogehter we enjoyed our stay and would like to recommend this place warmly [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

This hotel has the potential to be perfect. We had a good time but I think the staff need to relax and enjoy themselves and make the guests feel more special. Some renovations in group spaces would be a good idea and a bar.

Lovely hotel, rooms very clean with good facilities, and the private beach is great. The manager was always around to help out with any queries and was very kind to allow us to use a room to freshen up even after we had checked out ( we had a very late flight home). Hotel was in a great location, great pool, nice beach, and helpful staff. The only issues we had was the bad smell of sewerage that would drift through the room and the very slow free wi-fi - seemed to about only slightly more than dial-up speed. Is a nice hotel...though we paid for the penthouse but were a little dissappointed. All the cheaper rooms had big balconies with sun chairs and we had a tiny standing room only balcony...a bit dissaapointing. The room is big though, but I would prefer a balcony. The staff are very friendly and nothing was ever a problem. You can hire motorcylce from the hotel at 250BT per day :) The hotel is a very easy 3 minute walk into the main area of Bophut...heaps of restuarants and little shops. This is a nice hotel which is in a good location. We booked the penthouse , but to be honest was a little dissapointed for the money.All the other rooms had nice big seaview balconies with comfy chairs...and the pentouse gets a standing room only balcony...would have been better off in a Seaview Hotel room. The hotel is only a 3 min walk to the heart of Bophut where there are a variety of eating places...but only a few offer true Thai food all the others are westernized Thai dishes and western food. We rented a motorcycle from the hotel for only 250Bt per day which was great...good way to see the place. The hotel staff are friendly and accommodating...pool is nice...ocean was nice...little outdoor bar was nice...would thoroughly reccomend this hotel...is good [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]

Fantasctic place to stay ! Bophut beach is the best part of Samui and the Baan Bophut is a very nice and peacefull hotel with a great private beach. The hotel is new and offers all that you need (AC, fantactic view, restaurant etc). The quality is very good for the price. Be sure that you will love this place ! Our favourite place on Ko Samui to-date! Baan Bophut is a real haven and perfect for couples who just want to relax. With a no child policy and staff for whom nothing is too much, this english managed hotel is idyllic. Situated in Fisherman s Village both shops and restaurants are easily accessible on foot. The rooms are large, well-equipped, cleaned daily with very comfy beds. We shall definitely return!

We only stayed for one night in May. Because of the heavy rains earlier, the pool was out of use and beach by the hotel is not good for swimming, we checked out earlier than planned. There was also electricity black out for three hours and no water when we arrived. Hotel owner was very nice and polite. Rooms were beautiful and beds very comfortable. We upgraded our rooms to seaview when we arrived, and maybe because of that the rooms were not clean. Bophut beach was very quiet during low-season, it might be better stay during high-season. This is the second time we have stayed at the Baan Bophut, and both times have been exceptional. Lucy and Johnny once again made us very welcome, and their manager, Tic, was an absolute sweetie - he went out of his way to organise a romantic dinner on the beach for us, and gave Mark some very handy fishing tips!! The beds are without doubt the most comfortable on the island, the rooms are very clean and very spacious, the location of the hotel is fantastic, being just a couple of minutes walk to the fab bars and restaurants of the Fishermans Village, and only 10 minutes by cab to Chaweng. The views from the balcony are breathtaking, and it is the perfect place to stay if you want to get away from it all and relax, but still have everything you could ever want more or less on your doorstep! We would highly recommend this hotel to anybody....... Thanks guys, see you again next year!!! [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]
